WELCOME... ...to The Stories, the home of the many bits and pieces of stories that I try to cobble together. They range from random short stories to as-yet-incomplete attempts at full length novels, 'real life' to fantasy. Please explore them and, hopefully, enjoy them. I'll add more often - new short stories, new chapters, and edits. Please comment and let me know what you think - positive or negative! I'm aware of great flaws in my writing and I hope that by sharing my stories I will be able to work them out. I'd like to know what people think. I'll also write about stories I enjoy myself and suggest what I think are good reads. And if any visitor to this site has a story of their own that they would like to share, please get in touch because I love to read and I can add it to this site for others to read as well. I hope that this site will attract some visitors. Please spread the word! THE LATEST 4/11/09 After almost 4 years, The Gates of Heredon has a complete plan! And I'm very proud of it. I began this 'complete' plan back at the beginning of July, with the aim of finally working out where the hell the story was going! And now it's done - 29, hand written pages. This is a most momentous day for me! 25/10/09 The site is created! Links to everything I've added can be found via the My Stories tab. When I add a new chapter, installment or story, or when I edit something, I'll post it here. So far I've added: The Gates of Heredon, chapters 1-7; Luci's Story, chapters 1-4; The Two Teddies With Clothes, installments 1 and 2; The Monster in the Attic; A Story: Girl - Crying. THE HIGHLIGHTS A story I began about 4 years ago. It's my favourite of my stories, the 'big one', the one I really want to work out. It's fantasy, and it has a very simple idea behind it - good v evil. But it's the characters that are the point. I've chopped it and I've changed it and I think I'm finally getting somewhere with it. A series of short stories for kids that I'm working on it. They come from a story called The Teddy Who Had No Clothes, which I discovered on our old computer. I may have written it, my sister may have written it, we have may have copied it. It's too long ago. The stories are random but I enjoy writing them. One of my favourite series of books, written by Chris D'Lacey. They're children's books but I think they can be enjoyed by all. They're about dragons and polar bears and the workings of the universe and this little paragraph really doesn't do them justice. They're a highlight because I'm re-reading them right now, having just bought the latest in the series. This is a blog that I discovered, written by a woman in America. She has a wonderful writing style and I enjoy her posts, especially what I can only describe as her Peter Pan sequels, but are much better than that description suggests. |
